Hello...I hadn't intended to stay away so long. I won't apologize though...
Life has been busy...and it is going to stay that way for awhile. I do hope I can spend a bit more time here now. I do miss blogging and visiting.
We are enjoying some spring-like weather after what has seemed like a FOREVER winter!! I'll take what I can get!
I have been painting and painting these past couple of months...working on technique, different surfaces and totally immersed in the joy of playing with color. What fun!
I hope to have some good news in planning for 2015...already, you ask?? I know, but I have to keep my priorities and goals in mind these days or I could go a little crazy!

I thought I would share what happens to a Canvas when you decide you don't like the Watercolor you have painted. This is probably not what a lot of artists would do, but it works for me.
The first pic is the canvas after I have removed the original painting and then deciding how and what to paint over it...(the original paint was a staining watercolor)...hence not all was completely removed. I am sure there is a product out there, but I decided to see if I could use what was left to my advantage...
ORIGINAL PAINTING
NEW PAINTING ON PAPER

The second picture (right) is the new painting on watercolor paper. It looks much better on the paper, but I can't share the whole picture yet...it still needs a bit of work.
ORIGINAL CANVAS WITH A NEW LOOK

The painting above is the original canvas...you can still see the heart shape, and I have turned the canvas to a horizontal position.
THE CANVAS NOW...A NEW WATERCOLOR!

This is what the canvas looks like now. It is coming along. I still have a few more elements to add
to it. It has been a fun exercise in rescuing this canvas. I'll share the final painting in a few days.

Wishing you all a happy weekend!
Thank-you for visiting...

Happy to see a blog post from you Nancy! Water color is not an easy medium to work with. You are mastering it quite well!

I hope that most of your busy schedule is time spent submerged in creative process!

hugs,
Doreen

Hi Nancy,

Lovely to see a post from you again and to see what you are up to.
Also how neat that you could rescue the canvas and use it again.
