A new year and lots of projects already underway! Winter always allows for a little catching up...
I have several new books I want to read...a couple of them are on the go right now. I enjoy that quiet time with a good book. I also enjoy making soups...always an adventure in the kitchen with me. I baked bread today...but not just any bread; this was called Basic Bread from the Wheat Belly Cookbook. It is full of nutrition, not any less calories than a slice of regular whole wheat bread, but less sugar and preservatives. It has a light texture even when toasted. This week I will be making a few recipes from the book, starting with a soup. I will share recipes in the coming days...
Sewing, sewing...it has been a busy couple of weeks in the studio. A lot is going on...new quilting patterns in the design phase, 8 done to date and 4 left to complete. I can't share those just yet...but they are really out of my comfort zone and I truly love how they look.
I am working on a quilt right now that is going to be a Block Of The Month for a store in Ontario, Canada. The blocks will be completed by the end of January and then the quilting...a new approach for me..I'll share when I get to that phase. I have been playing with technique and surface design with this quilt. I love how it is coming together...several blocks are at different phases in the process.
Here are a few pics of my adventures with design...
