Hello...
We are slowly recovering here in Calgary and surrounding area from the floods of 2013. It has been a long, ugly reminder of what Mother Nature can do...Through it all though, our community and from across the country, people have stepped up and helped in every way they can to make our city and outlying areas better and try to heal from the devastation. And for that...we applaud you and Thank-you!!

I recently spent a week at Olds College in Alberta learning another level of the Master Spinner program. I had several Aha! moments and am becoming a better spinner because of it. We had an amazing teacher who was patient, kind and so, so helpful. This chickie is extremely grateful for that!!

I am busy working away on several projects...
The summer days are lovely now. How is it where you are??

Here are a few pics...
OLDS COLLEGE GARDENS
The grounds and flowers around the college are just gorgeous. I will post a couple more pics in another post. The area above is such a peaceful place to just sit and enjoy the scenery.
WILLOW WEAVE QUILT STRIPS
This picture was taken after I had chain-stitched all of the strips together.

WILLOW WEAVE BLOCKS READY TO BE SEWN TOGETHER
I don't know how much time I will have this week to get this together. I still have a secret strip I want to insert and I need to prep that first....We'll see how far I get.
NEW CUPBOARD FOR SPINNING ACCESSORIES

I was looking for something that would hold all of my spindles, a bit of wool, finished skeins, etc...
Originally, I wanted a small buffet table I had seen on the Ikea website. I also saw this...but wasn't sure about it. So off we went to Ikea...and we saw both. I liked both...but there was a difference in price. The cupboard was more and the difference in the size and room vs the table was enough to justify the price and so...I know have a dust free home for a few of my "toys" for spinning. Don't you just love that antique cranberry color??

Wishing you all a wonderful week!
Thank-you for visiting.

Hi Nancy,

Was thinking of you away at your spinning class and glad that went well and you were able to learn from an amazing teacher.
So glad that you are recovering from the terrible floods. Mother Nature can play havoc with us.
The quilts are looking great and you have been busy with them.
I love your new cupboard and it will be good for storing all your spinning supplies in.

Happy new week
hugs
Carolyn
